Las Mañanitas

Over a year after opening its doors, Las Mañanitas, a family-owned Mexican restaurant located on Sullivan Street in Wurtsboro, has become a community favorite.

Chef and owner Alejandro Huerta Flores has worked in various restaurants throughout New York City and Ulster County. After years of working for others, he decided to venture out and open his restaurant.

“Many people said that I was a good cook,” he stated. “I worked for other Mexican restaurants. I began cooking Italian food for eight years in Spring Valley [New York].”

After selling his part in a family restaurant, he opened up Las Mañanitas on September 28, 2018.

Along with his wife, Odilia Huerta, and their three children, Huerta Flores is proud of what they have been able to accomplish within the first year.
